Kelly Kern''s work as an artist is focused on developing our abilities to understand ourselves and the relationships we have with others. When taking on new pieces of work the focus is on using the text as an emotional and empathetic starting point. Every word we say, or think, is representative of how we view and feel about the world we experience life in. There are no characters that are just one dimensional. By creating characters that are real and fully fleshed out, those in the theater will be able to explore more about those characters and themselves.

Trust is key to everything she does as an artist. In a world where we often lack group experiences like this, it is key to foster an accepting and welcoming environment to foster thinking. Art can be and has been a key to change. She strives to make work that recognizes this and works towards positive changes.
